The Story of Shaka Kindha
How a difficult beginning became a reason to create hope for children facing similar challenges.

Born From Experience, Not Theory
This is not a story I learned from a book. It is a story I lived..
I grew up as an orphan, learning from a young age what it meant to face life without the love, protection, and comfort of parents. There were days when hunger, loneliness, and uncertainty made life feel painfully heavy.
But by the grace of God, I made it through.
I carry those memories with mennot only as reminders of the pain I experienced, but as a reminder of the children who are still living through it today.
The Story That Started Kindha Cares
Growing Up in Eastern Uganda
My name is Shaka, and I was born and raised in Eastern Uganda. Like many children, I had dreams about the future. But my childhood took a different path when I lost my parents and grew up as an orphan. Growing up without the love, protection, and support of parents was one of the hardest experiences of my life. There were moments when I wondered where my next meal would come from, where I would get clothes, and whether anyone truly cared about what happened to me.
A Childhood of Hardship
Being an orphan taught me what it feels like to go without the things many children take for granted. I knew hunger. I knew loneliness. I knew what it meant to feel forgotten. There were days when life felt overwhelming and moments when I questioned whether my future would ever be different. But somehow, I kept going. By the grace of God, I survived those difficult years. And as I grew older, I began to realize that my story was not meant to end with the pain I experienced. Perhaps my journey could become a reason for another child to have hope.
When I Look at Children, I See Myself
Today, when I see a child struggling with hunger, wearing clothes that are worn out, living without proper care, or trying to survive on the streets, I see a part of my younger self. I know what that child may be feeling. I know what it is like to wonder if anyone notices your pain. I know what it is like to need someone to simply say, "You matter. You are not forgotten." That is why this work is so personal to me. These children are not statistics. They are human beings with names, dreams, talents, and futures. They deserve the opportunity to grow up knowing that they are loved and that their lives have value.
Turning My Pain Into Purpose
My experience as an orphan changed me, but I don't want my difficult childhood to be remembered only as a story of suffering. I want it to become a story of purpose. I founded Kindha Cares Foundation because I want to use what I went through to make a difference in the lives of children who are facing struggles similar to the ones I faced. I cannot change my past. But I can help change the future of a child. I can help provide food to a hungry child. I can help provide clothing to a child in need. I can help a child access education and healthcare. I can offer encouragement to a child who feels forgotten. And most importantly, I can remind children that someone cares about them and believes in their future.
My Dream
My dream is to see a Uganda where no child has to face poverty, hunger, abandonment, or hopelessness alone. I dream of a place where every child has an opportunity to learn, grow, discover their gifts, and build a better future. I want children to hear a message that I wish every struggling child could hear: You matter. You are loved. You are not forgotten. Your life has value. And your future is worth fighting for.
Seeing Children Facing Similar Struggles
Today, many children across Uganda continue to face similar challenges. Children grow up without adequate food, clothing, clean water, education, medical care, or stable support. Some children end up on the streets simply trying to survive. When I look at those children, I see myself.
Why I Founded Kindha Cares
I founded Kindha Cares Foundation because I know what it feels like to grow up without a parent to hold your hand, wipe your tears, or tell you that everything will be okay. I know the loneliness of being an orphan and the pain of wondering if anyone truly cares. I cannot change the childhood I lived, but I can use my story to bring hope to another child. I want every orphaned child to feel loved, seen, and remembered to know that they are not alone and that their future still matters. Kindha Cares is my way of turning the pain I once carried into love, compassion, and hope for children who need someone to care.
A Message to Those Who Want to Help
Kindha Cares was born from my own experience of growing up as an orphan. I know what it feels like to need love, care, and someone to believe in you. Today, I want to give that hope to other children. But I cannot do it alone. Your donation, support, or partnership can provide a child with food, care, education, and hope for a better future. Together, we can remind an orphaned child: you are loved, you are not forgotten, and your future matter. May God Bless You For Your Kindness
"Together, we can give a child who has known hardship the love, care, and hope they need to believe in a brighter tomorrow."
